The founding of Atelier TB is inextricably linked to our original ambition to contribute—in our own small way—to the revival of the textile industry in the Vosges, a region with a long history of weaving. Crafted at a production facility in France that once employed nearly 1,000 seamstresses, your Vosges apron is woven, cut, assembled, and personalized on-site. From braiding to attaching snap buttons, including embroidery, every step of the manufacturing process passes through the expert hands of our seamstresses. The result is an apron that is 100% made in France, combining ethical values with style.

It’s true—why buy a French apron when I could find one cheaper just about anywhere? A garment that’s “Made in France” is about more than just a blue, white, and red label sewn into a sleeve cuff or on an apron bib. At Atelier TB, we do our part to create jobs in France and preserve centuries-old regional craftsmanship. Nearly 20 pairs of hands from the Vosges region work every day to craft our products. In fact, we’ve been certified by France Terre Textile since 2020. Every year, this textile label audits our production through a third-party organization to ensure that at least 75% of the manufacturing steps are carried out within the French Textile Hubs (AGR).

And what about the environment?

As everyone knows, environmental issues have emerged as the greatest challenge of our century. Considered the second most polluting industry in the world, the textile industry perfectly embodies the excesses of consumer society and its dramatic consequences for our planet. When we set up our workshop in 2018, the concept of the carbon footprint quickly became central to every aspect of our work. Revitalizing the French textile industry in the 21st century would be meaningless without ensuring that we limit our greenhouse gas emissions. Our aprons are designed from start to finish in France and travel only the distance between our workshop and you. And we did the math: it’s 810 km for a delivery to Biarritz or Brest—the two metropolitan cities farthest from our workshop in Épinal. For an apron coming from China, it’s nearly 10,000 kilometers—that’s 10 times farther !
